Chan's challenge for us!

Successful Lessons W/end from – Chan Dissanayake 2018

A very enjoyable first day was had by some 15 attendees who are at the 2 day workshop for watercolour lessons. Our venue in the lower Ulladulla Civic Centre is great & the Society has had very good support with some attendees who have travelled from Wollongong, Goulburn and out of Sydney.

Chan’s setup is excellent, we have video projection for painting subjects and his own working area is covered by overhead camera to TV output. This means we have excellent overview of his techniques and style as the tutorial progresses.

Day 1 – Saturday – Our first subject was a view of Mollymook Beach, water and landscape with people.
The second painting project for the day was a view of The Megalong Valley.

Day-2 Sunday – Many arrived early to touch up and complete yesterday’s last challenge.. First  up today is Ulladulla Harbour scene, not just replicating a photo.

Second challenge a Street Scene, buildings, cars, people and reflections balance with perspective.

All attendees left with a rewarding learning experience, thoroughly recommended.
