Peter Williams art tutorial – August 4th

Peter Williams art tutorial – August 4th

Peter Williams Acrylic workshop is being held at the Lower Civic Centre on Sat August 4th from 9am until 3.30pm.

Peter is a local artist, he lives at Mogo, an historical village on the South Coast of N.S.W. just south of Batemans Bay. In Mogo’s 100 year old St. Mary’s Catholic Church in 1980 my wife and I established a gallery selling my own pottery and paintings.

As Peter says ” My use of colour and lots of it, has allowed me to paint with a bold scale and expression capturing a `slice’ of the landscape rather than large sweeping vistas. The influence of the French Impressionist painters together with Australian painters such as Fred Williams, Lloyd Reese, William Robertson and Brett Whitely has encouraged my style of painting. ”

We currently have members committed for this workshop, however please Contact Us if you’d like more details?

Successful Lessons W/end from – Chan Dissanayake

A very enjoyable first day was had by some 15 attendees who are at the 2 day workshop for watercolour lessons. Our venue in the lower Ulladulla Civic Centre is great & the Society has had very good support with some attendees who have travelled from Wollongong, Goulburn and out of Sydney.

Chan’s setup is excellent, we have video projection for painting subjects and his own working area is covered by overhead camera to TV output. This means we have excellent overview of his techniques and style as the tutorial progresses.

Day 1 – Saturday – Our first subject was a view of Mollymook Beach, water and landscape with people.
The second painting project for the day was a view of The Megalong Valley.

Day-2 Sunday – Many arrived early to touch up and complete yesterday’s last challenge.. First  up today is Ulladulla Harbour scene, not just replicating a photo.

Second challenge a Street Scene, buildings, cars, people and reflections balance with perspective.

All attendees left with a rewarding learning experience, thoroughly recommended.
